The main thrust of his article is that now that the spammers, the virus writers, the phishers, and the spyware authors have all teamed up in a vast cyber-crime network, the good guys are going to need to team up to fight them. The problem is that you all alone with all that email that comes into your inbox: so it is only about your own responsibility to recognize the potential spammness from, unknown sender.
Probably the solution is the creation of mass email-obfuscators to hide actual emails.
